Dear Community Professional,

In your professional role, you may be familiar with Alcoholics Anonymous, better known as A.A. You may have clients, employees, colleagues or others whom you recognize to have a problem with alcohol and would like to steer toward A.A.

The purpose of the A.A. Committee for Cooperation with the Professional Community is to be "friendly with our friends" in all walks of life that may have professional contact with the alcoholic. We want the A.A. message of personal recovery to reach those who desire our help.

Simply stated, Alcoholics Anonymous is a worldwide fellowship of men and women-over two million of them-who help each other maintain sobriety and who offer to share their recovery experience with others. Anyone who thinks he or she has a problem, is welcome at an A.A. meeting. The only requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop drinking.

Should you have questions about A.A., we can put you in contact with one of our members who would be glad to answer your questions on A.A. personally. He or she is also available to introduce your clients or colleagues to our fellowship.

In addition, there is more information about our fellowship available in A.A. literature. The enclosed list offers a few of the services in which you may be interested. This list, returned to us by mail or email message with your selections, will be promptly replied to with a phone call to arrange an answer to your request in the manner most convenient to you. If you simply want us to mail this information, please indicate this with your address in the response.
